“To be honest I was terrified at the prospect of home schooling my 5year old son. On speaking with Alberta, she encouraged and supported me with great materials and amazing ideas to create a well rounded education both inside and out side of the “classroom”. She was very passionate and gave me much courage to take on the challenge.
I must say I started off a bit shaky but each day with the materials and continued encouraging pep talks, I find myself in a very rewarding position to be able to offer my son so many interesting things to do as well as being to encourage and observe him closely to note where he needs support. Educating isn’t so boring and structured anymore for my son, he enjoys learning.

I met Alberta from Homegrown Sonshine at the start of my journey in Home Education. I am always deeply moved by her holistic approach to Education that seeks to nourish and develop the child and the family unit . Education has always been about the whole person and not just a means of delivering a narrow objective. I’ve moved by the way she has captured her own journey on camera showing weekly arts and craft sessions with her son, visits to historical places and how these have been linked to the school curriculum.
I would definitely recommend her as a practitioner.

Alberta is incredibly knowledgeable and creative with all things home learning. She is so passionate about what she does and she has given me so many age appropriate ideas on things to do at home with my son to engage him creatively and also academically.
She also goes out of her way to provide carefully selected curated information to back up all the advice provided. She even gave me advice on how to get my son to sleep based on his character traits!
